I'm currently studying Interactive Digital Design and Computer Science at Quinnipiac University in my home state of Connecticut. I'm an avid gamer and artist with a varied skill-set across software, design, and communication. In my spare time I enjoy watching the television show 'Scrubs,' listening to music, and keeping up with current technology. More information can be found on my website.
Dustin is a software engineer located in the "Big Sky Country" of Montana. He has experience in enterprise software, web development, and gaming. He enjoys snowmobiling the mountains, fishing, XBOX 360, and camping with his family. He enjoys the shows How I Met Your Mother, House, Numb3rs, and The Simpsons.
I enjoy photography, graphic design, web design and skinning so much that breakfast frequently ends up being at 3 PM. My favorite foods are pizza, quesadillas, barbecue anything, and just about any variety of chocolate as long as it doesn't have nuts. (Snickers are great though, and no, I didn't get paid to say that.) My main role in Cairo development is coding the UI and some basic C#.
My name is Rogier Schuitema, but my friends call me Roger. I'm a 22-year-old student at the Hanze University in Groningen, The Netherlands. I'm in the 3rd year (out of 4) of my study: International Business & Languages, and am about to start a 5 month internship in Atlanta, GA. I have a part time job at TNT Postal Service and I occasionally work at a local farm (agriculture) to help out with all kinds of stuff. My hobbies are going out with friends, playing the piano and working out, and of course I'm a computer and technology enthusiast.
We are always looking for developers and designers who are passionate about software and dedicated in their pursuit for perfection. If this sounds like you, shoot us an email.
Originally created to be a Samurize configuration with a floating taskbar and hovering 'start' menu, Cairo has since evolved into a full desktop replacement for the Microsoft Windows operating system developed in WPF and C#. Cairo is currently under development and will be freeware, but is not open-source. For more information, please check our FAQ.
The Cairo Development Team has a simple goal: to redefine the desktop experience. No longer is it a matter of using your computer for spreadsheets and internet browsing. The world of computing has transformed over the last decade to become the center of people's lives. In order to bring the Windows environment into the twenty-first century, Cairo will focus on advancing age old standards while forging new ones. Guided by fundamental design principles and attention to every detail, it is our hope that Cairo impacts the way people use their computers and literally changes the face of an aging environment; never get lost in a sea of windows again.
